Pharmacy Intern - Grad

About This Role

This role offers pharmacy students the opportunity to apply didactic knowledge in a real-world setting, supporting pharmacy operations and patient care. Interns will develop skills for a future Pharmacist role through a comprehensive training roadmap and direct patient engagement.

Responsibilities

• Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help Pharmacists and Technicians manage and improve patient health
• Adhere to pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care and creating personalized moments
• Offer counseling, field medical questions, and solicit patient medical history information under a licensed pharmacist's supervision
• Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify prescriptions or facilitate medication changes as allowed by state regulation
• Maintain high self-awareness and provide in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members
• Complete basic inventory activities, such as putting away medication deliveries and completing cycle counts, as permitted by law
• Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic
• Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles
• Deliver additional patient health care services including immunizations and point-of-care testing, where allowable by law

Requirements

• PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program at CVS Health
• Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe, per state guidelines
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required

Qualifications

• PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program
• Prior related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting (1+ years preferred)

Nice to Have

• 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
• Ability to become immunization certified
• Ability to work in home store, and across the market in other locations, to meet business needs
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
