Pharmacy Intern

About This Role

The Pharmacy Intern will play a critical role in ensuring a safe and effective Retail Pharmacy work environment, delivering exceptional patient care under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety in the pharmacy setting
• Adhere to pharmacy professional practice standards
• Comply with all regulatory requirements
• Perform quality assurance tasks
• Provide excellent customer service
• Assist with inventory management
• Manage workflow, excluding final prescription verification
• Lead with heart, displaying empathy and compassion for patients, customers, and colleagues
• Seek new ways to grow, collaborate with others, and deliver better outcomes
• Facilitate a team culture that promotes caring, energy, enthusiasm, and pride

Requirements

• Accepted into or actively enrolled in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
• 0-3 years relevant work experience
• Must possess or be in process of obtaining valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Ability to complete all required training within state guidelines and required timeframe
• Ability to have regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
• Ability to be mobile and remain upright for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift, scan, and bag items
• Finger dexterity
• Ability to reach overhead and extend hands/arms to grasp items
• Precision control for adjusting machines
• Ability to stoop to a considerable degree
• Close visual acuity for transcribing, viewing computer terminals, reading, visual inspection
• Ability to orally communicate information and instructions

Qualifications

• Accepted into or actively enrolled in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
• 0-3 years relevant work experience

Nice to Have

• Immunization eligibility
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
