About This Role

This role involves providing supportive patient care within a clinical setting, ensuring patient safety and comfort under the supervision of medical professionals. The specific responsibilities will vary depending on the Medical Assistant level (I, II, or III), with higher levels involving more advanced clinical tasks and leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supportive patient care functions for an assigned clinical area
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort according to legal, organizational, and professional standards
  • Perform delegated tasks as directed by a physician or RN
  • Administer injectables and perform advanced clinical tasks (for MA II and III)
  • Perform high-level clinical procedures (for MA III)
  • Serve as a resource for less experienced staff (for MA III)

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program OR 1+ years of directly related experience without certification
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association
  • Basic medical/nursing terminology experience
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of directly related experience without certification, or graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.

Nice to Have

  • For MA II: 5+ years of directly related experience
  • For MA III: 8+ years of directly related experience
  • Experience in Ambulatory Care
  • EPIC and Windows-based computer systems experience
