About This Role

Provide direct patient care to critically ill pediatric patients with Congenital Heart Disease, focusing on individualized, family-centered, and holistic care. Organize, implement, evaluate, and document the plan of care while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act, with emphasis on the critically ill patient with Congenital Heart Disease and/or Surgery
  • Organize, implement, modify, evaluate, document and maintain the plan of care
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment
  • Participate in CHSU initiatives and process improvement
  • Maintain high-quality age specific care for the neonatal, pediatric, adolescent and young adult population
  • Support the mission, vision and values of the organization

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
  • BSN Required within 24 months of hire into RN position
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
  • Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license
  • Minimum of 1 year PICU or CHSU RN experience

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing; BSN Required within 24 months of hire
  • Minimum of 1 year PICU or CHSU RN experience

Nice to Have

  • CCRN (preferred)
  • Congenital Heart Experience and/or high-acuity PICU experience
