Provide caring and compassionate customer service as a Patient Services Specialist, managing patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, and billing activities to ensure an excellent patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Exemplify caring and compassionate customer service to create an excellent patient experience
- Provide exemplary interpersonal skills and interact with patients and families in sensitive situations
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills and decisive judgment in a hectic environment, working cohesively on a team and independently
- Manage patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, collection, cash receipting, arrival, and departure desk activities
- Encourage patient utilization of front-end technology during the registration process
- Enter and maintain confidential and accurate patient information including insurance, billing, and payment details
- Assist billing functions accurately and/or direct to appropriate billing office
- Demonstrate proficiency of emergency codes and appropriate responses, as well as applicable federal and state healthcare regulations
- Monitor inventory and stock medications, narcotics, and emergency medications/equipment
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Computer experience
- Customer relations experience
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
Nice to Have
- Experience with Medical Records Software
- Front desk practice experience
