This role is responsible for consistently providing exemplary customer service and proactively executing all front office administrative duties in a healthcare setting. The Patient Service Specialist contributes to a world-class patient experience by managing registration, insurance verification, scheduling, and payment processes.
Responsibilities
- Exemplify caring and compassionate customer service to create an excellent patient experience
- Provide exemplary interpersonal skills and interact with patients and families in sensitive situations
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills and decisive judgment in a hectic environment
- Work cohesively on a team and independently with minimal supervision
- Manage patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, collection, and cash receipting
- Encourage patient utilization of front-end technology during the registration process
- Enter and maintain confidential and accurate patient information, including insurance, billing, and payment
- Assist billing functions accurately and/or direct to appropriate billing office
- Demonstrate proficiency of emergency codes and applicable federal and state healthcare regulations
- Monitor inventory and stock medications, narcotics, and emergency medications/equipment
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Computer experience
- Customer relations experience
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Entry level position requiring computer experience and customer relations experience. Medical Records Software and Front desk practice experience preferred.
