Patient Services Specialist

About This Role

This role is responsible for consistently providing exemplary customer service and proactively executing all front office administrative duties in a healthcare setting. The Patient Service Specialist contributes to a world-class patient experience by managing registration, insurance verification, scheduling, and payment processes.

Responsibilities

• Exemplify caring and compassionate customer service to create an excellent patient experience
• Provide exemplary interpersonal skills and interact with patients and families in sensitive situations
• Demonstrate critical thinking skills and decisive judgment in a hectic environment
• Work cohesively on a team and independently with minimal supervision
• Manage patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, collection, and cash receipting
• Encourage patient utilization of front-end technology during the registration process
• Enter and maintain confidential and accurate patient information, including insurance, billing, and payment
• Assist billing functions accurately and/or direct to appropriate billing office
• Demonstrate proficiency of emergency codes and applicable federal and state healthcare regulations
• Monitor inventory and stock medications, narcotics, and emergency medications/equipment

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Computer experience
• Customer relations experience

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Entry level position requiring computer experience and customer relations experience. Medical Records Software and Front desk practice experience preferred.
