The Patient Services Specialist provides caring and compassionate customer service to create an excellent patient experience while managing patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, and collections. This role requires critical thinking and the ability to work in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Exemplify caring and compassionate customer service to create an excellent patient experience
- Provide exemplary interpersonal skills and interact with patients and families in sensitive situations
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills and decisive judgment in a hectic environment, working cohesively on a team and independently
- Manage patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, collection, and cash receipting activities to standards
- Encourage patient utilization of front-end technology during the registration process
- Enter and maintain confidential and accurate patient information including insurance, billing, and payment information
- Demonstrate proficiency of emergency codes, appropriate responses, and applicable federal and state healthcare regulations
- Monitor inventory and stock medications, narcotics, and emergency medications/equipment
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Computer experience
- Customer relations experience
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
Nice to Have
- Experience with Medical Records Software
- Front desk practice experience
