About This Role

The Patient Services Representative supports Neighborhood Healthcare's mission by handling front office tasks, directing calls, and assisting patients with scheduling healthcare appointments.

Responsibilities

  • Assess incoming phone calls to determine the correct course of action
  • Correspond with patients, salespeople, and visitors courteously in-person, by telephone, and/or mail
  • Conduct appointment reminder calls to all patients, noting required documents
  • Generate daily lists of scheduled appointments for the clinic
  • Share accountability for overall patient health outcomes by coordinating with care teams
  • Schedule appointments and enter all required data into the electronic scheduler
  • Track and record filled and cancelled appointments
  • Prepare patient charts prior to their appointments
  • Verify patient appointments and arrival time at registration
  • Receive and record patient payments in computer and ledger for services received
  • Verify patient records are up to date and accurate, making appropriate changes in the computer system

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • One year customer service experience

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED
  • One year customer service experience, healthcare setting preferred

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a healthcare setting
  • Experience working with electronic medical records and multi-phone lines
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
