The Patient Services Representative supports Neighborhood Healthcare's mission by handling front office tasks, directing calls, and assisting patients with scheduling healthcare appointments.
Responsibilities
- Assess incoming phone calls to determine the correct course of action
- Correspond with patients, salespeople, and visitors courteously in-person, by telephone, and/or mail
- Conduct appointment reminder calls to all patients, noting required documents
- Generate daily lists of scheduled appointments for the clinic
- Share accountability for overall patient health outcomes by coordinating with care teams
- Schedule appointments and enter all required data into the electronic scheduler
- Track and record filled and cancelled appointments
- Prepare patient charts prior to their appointments
- Verify patient appointments and arrival time at registration
- Receive and record patient payments in computer and ledger for services received
- Verify patient records are up to date and accurate, making appropriate changes in the computer system
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED
- One year customer service experience
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- One year customer service experience, healthcare setting preferred
Nice to Have
- Experience in a healthcare setting
- Experience working with electronic medical records and multi-phone lines
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
