Represent the clinic professionally by performing various patient and financial services duties, including collecting and updating demographic/insurance information, verifying health plan eligibility, scheduling appointments, and supporting overall clinic operations.
Responsibilities
- Represent the clinic with professionalism and excellent customer service skills
- Collect and update demographics and insurance information
- Verify health plan eligibility
- Take complete and accurate messages
- Schedule mutually acceptable appointment times utilizing an electronic practice management system
- Perform other clerical duties as needed to support daily clinic operation goals and quality patient care initiatives
- Handle referrals and authorizations, pre-registration, patient preparation, and insurance eligibility
- Manage patient check-out process, cash collections and reconciliation
- Assist with audits, TES, PIRs, and denial prevention including superbill reconciliation
- Assign and lead tasks for Patient Services Associate (PSA) and Financial Services Associate (FSA) I and II
Requirements
- Three (3) years experience in an outpatient setting as a Medical Office Receptionist
- Successful completion of Patient and Financial Services Rep I and II or equivalent experience
- Experience with electronic practice management system
- High School Graduate/GED
