Patient Service Representative

About This Role

This role involves enthusiastically answering incoming calls and electronic requests from patients. The Patient Service Representative will register new patients, schedule appointments, and provide information on behalf of the institution.

Responsibilities

• Professionally and enthusiastically answer incoming calls and electronic requests from patients, family members, and other external parties
• Register new patients and schedule healthcare appointments
• Answer questions, handle complaints, troubleshoot problems, and provide information
• Identify and resolve discrepancies or missing information and accurately enter data into the electronic medical record system
• Verify insurance coverage or determine patient self-pay responsibility and provide cost information
• Interpret physician orders to schedule appointments and ancillary tests

Requirements

• Must pass PSS or CCS training program
• Successfully complete competency exam to maintain position

• Prior customer service experience
