Patient Relations Specialist

About This Role

Serve as the primary contact for patients and families with unmet expectations, acting as a professional liaison with internal departments to promote optimal patient care. Address and resolve concerns, ensuring patient satisfaction, and assist with policy interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact for patients and families when care or outcomes do not meet expectations
• Function as a resource and professional liaison with internal departments
• Promote the primary goal of optimal care to the patient
• Identify and resolve patient and family member concerns regarding services and staff
• Maintain cooperative work relationships with other departments to respond quickly to patient concerns
• Assist with and actively be involved in patient satisfaction surveys and patient grievance plans
• Assist in interpretation of policies and procedures for patients, families, and visitors

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, business, nursing, psychology or other applicable science or six years equivalent work experience within internal patient-related, customer service hospital experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, business, nursing, psychology or other applicable science
• Six years equivalent work experience within internal patient-related, customer service hospital experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree
