The Hearing Care Coordinator (HCC) collaborates with clinical staff to deliver quality patient care and service, supporting both patients and referring physicians. This role involves scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and assisting with various clinic support needs.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients with a positive and professional attitude
- Place outbound calls to current and former patients for scheduling purposes
- Collect patient intake forms and maintain patient files/notes
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments
- Complete benefit checks and authorization for patient insurance
- Provide first level support, answer questions, check patients in/out, and process payments
- Process repairs under the direct supervision of a licensed Hearing Care Professional
- Prepare bank deposits and submit daily reports to finance
- Manage inventory, order/monitor stock, and submit supply orders as needed
- Assist with event planning and logistics for at least 1 community outreach event per month
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous customer service experience
- Professional verbal and written communication
- Strong relationship building skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates degree preferred
- 2+ years preferred in a healthcare environment; previous customer service experience required
Nice to Have
- Associate's degree
- Prior experience with hearing aids
- EMR/EHR experience
