About This Role

The Patient Care Coordinator will greet and register patients, manage scheduling, and handle financial transactions in a clinic setting. This role supports patient care by ensuring smooth administrative operations and positive patient interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and manage wait times
  • Complete check-in and check-out tasks, including insurance verification, pre-authorizations, and precertification of procedures
  • Collect co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles, and issue receipts
  • Manage cashier box and daily deposits according to company policies
  • Process walk-in patients and visitors
  • Answer phones, schedule appointments, and redirect calls as appropriate
  • Manage medical records (maintain, file/scan, and prepare for schedules)
  • Ensure all correspondence is scanned and/or filed, process requests for medical records release, and maintain appropriate logs
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of customer service experience with strong communication both in person and via phone
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1+ years of customer service experience with strong communication

Nice to Have

  • 1+ years of experience with electronic health records
  • 1+ years of related healthcare experience, including scheduling experience
  • 1+ years of experience handling and triaging telephone calls and a multi-system phone line
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
