The Patient Care Coordinator will greet and register patients, manage scheduling, and handle financial transactions in a clinic setting. This role supports patient care by ensuring smooth administrative operations and positive patient interactions.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and manage wait times
- Complete check-in and check-out tasks, including insurance verification, pre-authorizations, and precertification of procedures
- Collect co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles, and issue receipts
- Manage cashier box and daily deposits according to company policies
- Process walk-in patients and visitors
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and redirect calls as appropriate
- Manage medical records (maintain, file/scan, and prepare for schedules)
- Ensure all correspondence is scanned and/or filed, process requests for medical records release, and maintain appropriate logs
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
- 1+ years of customer service experience with strong communication both in person and via phone
- Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1+ years of customer service experience with strong communication
Nice to Have
- 1+ years of experience with electronic health records
- 1+ years of related healthcare experience, including scheduling experience
- 1+ years of experience handling and triaging telephone calls and a multi-system phone line
- Knowledge of medical terminology
