About This Role

Perform mammography exams under the guidance of a radiologist according to MQSA and state regulations, ensuring high-quality images and patient well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Confirm appropriate clinical data, obtain patient history, and use the lowest possible dose to provide high quality images for the interpreting radiologist
  • Provide for the emotional, physical well-being, and safety of the patient while maintaining strict standards of patient confidentiality
  • Communicate effectively with patients as well as other members of the health care team
  • Recognize and effectively communicate equipment problems in a timely manner to the Department Supervisor
  • Provide on-going CEU documentation to support licensure requirement for every location worked
  • Maintain continuing education and continuing experience requirements as defined by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Be willing to cover in other location(s) when urgent need arises
  • Be willing to participate in the training of new mammographers

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalency certificate
  • Graduate of an accredited radiography program
  • 1+ years licensed in Radiography
  • Passed the ARRT exam in Mammography
  • Mammography license in the state of Massachusetts

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalency certificate (e.g. GED, HiSET, TASC Test) from an accredited institution or governmental unit; Graduate of an accredited radiography program
  • 1+ years licensed in Radiography

Nice to Have

  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (may be required based on specialty)
  • Knowledge of Mammography equipment and MQSA and ACR regulations
  • Knowledge of PACS and associated equipment
  • General knowledge of healthcare delivery services
  • Proven ability to learn and master new tasks related to Image Quality and Safety
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and work with people of various diverse backgrounds
  • Proven ability to complete Mammography exams in a timely manner even under stressful condition
