About This Role

Administer mammograms to patients, operate mammography equipment, and perform quality control to ensure examination viability. This role also involves maintaining accreditation records and performing pre-surgical needle localization scans.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the care and maintenance of Women’s Imaging equipment and supplies
  • Receive and review requests for Women’s Imaging exams
  • Accept patients and assess their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements
  • Explain and prepare patients for all Women’s Imaging procedures
  • Utilize proper aseptic technique and isolation procedures when appropriate
  • Perform all responsibilities and duties required by the Women’s Imaging department to conduct examinations
  • Quality control all images performed, maintain inventory, and adhere to safety regulations
  • Participate in training of department personnel, including students
  • Display superior interpersonal skills with patients and peers
  • Perform work of equal skill, effort, and responsibility as directed and potentially higher-level work in preparation for increased responsibility

Requirements

  • Technical Diploma/Certificate Radiology
  • Certified Radiology Technologist Licensed State of Florida Upon Hire, Required
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association Upon Hire, Required
  • Registered Technologist (ARRT) Upon Hire, Required
  • Registered Technologist - Mammography (RTM) ARRT within 18 Months, Required
  • Ability to multi-task daily
  • Knowledge of filing systems
  • Knowledge of telephone etiquette and customer service
  • Computer skills
  • Medical terminology

Qualifications

  • Technical Diploma/Certificate Radiology

BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association (Required) Registered Technologist (ARRT) (Required)
