This role involves assisting patients with daily living tasks and basic medical monitoring under the direction of licensed personnel. The Patient Care Associate will perform vital signs, document patient information, and interact effectively with patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Perform vital signs, weights/heights, intakes, and outputs with accuracy and within established time frames or as requested.
- Complete all documentation in the medical record as required.
- Interact with patients and their families effectively.
- Assist patients with basic hygiene tasks, including bathing, dressing, and feeding.
- Help patients turn and reposition themselves in bed and move between bed and wheelchair.
- Listen to patient health concerns and report them promptly to nurses.
Requirements
- Nursing Assistant certification
- Certified Patient Care Technician (NCCT) certification
- Experience with patient care or medical assisting in a hospital or healthcare setting
- Strong ability to provide empathetic, patient-centered care
- Ability to accurately monitor and document patient information
- Excellent interpersonal skills for communication
- Capability to perform physically demanding tasks (lifting, moving patients, standing)
- Collaborative mindset to work with healthcare team
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
- 1-2 years preferred in patient care or medical assisting in a hospital or healthcare setting.
