About This Role

This Patient Care Associate role provides patient-focused, age-specific clinical and informational support using health information equipment and systems. The position involves direct patient care, assisting the healthcare team with procedures, and maintaining supplies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide/modify care and patient/family education using a systematic process
  • Assist health care team with simple procedures; prepare supplies & equipment
  • Provide patient/family support, assist in positioning patients, set up/remove equipment
  • Perform a variety of tasks associated with generalized patient care (vital signs, feeding, mobility, drainage, personal hygiene)
  • Prepare and clean exam rooms, patient treatment areas and stretchers
  • Transport patients to and from treatment areas
  • Assist in the fabrication of adaptive and assistive equipment
  • Keep storage closet in order and stocked
  • Assist with office duties as needed
  • Perform phlebotomy function as assigned

Requirements

  • Completion of an approved Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant training program
  • Medical Assistant Certification OR Certified Nursing Assistant license
  • Phlebotomy (if performing phlebotomy functions)
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers

Qualifications

  • Completion of an approved Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant training program is required.
  • Generally requires 0 to 3 years of related experience.

Certifications

Medical Assistant Certification (Required) American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required) Certified Nursing Assistant license (Required)
