Patient Care Associate

About This Role

Assist patients with daily living tasks and vital signs under the direction of licensed personnel in a healthcare setting. This role supports patient care, research, teaching, and community service.

Responsibilities

• Perform vital signs, weights, heights, intakes, and outputs accurately and within established timeframes
• Complete all required documentation in the medical record
• Interact effectively with patients and their families
• Assist patients with basic hygiene tasks including bathing, dressing, using the toilet, and feeding
• Help patients turn and reposition themselves in bed and move between bed and wheelchair
• Listen to patient health concerns and report them to nurses

Requirements

• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Strong patient/customer service skills
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
• Proficient computer skills for electronic medical records

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
• 1-2 years experience working in patient care/elder care preferred
