Patient Care Assistant - PCU General

About This Role

The Patient Care Assistant provides direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, assisting patients with daily living activities and maintaining a safe environment within the PCU General unit.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care
• Support nursing practice under the direct supervision of a registered nurse
• Carry out designated activities within functions limited by law to unlicensed nursing personnel
• Assist patients with activities of daily living
• Provide basic nursing care to patients
• Assist in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment

Requirements

• Must be 18 years old
• Demonstrates ability to multi-task under stressful situations
• Demonstrates ability to communicate, collaborate and manage relationships with interdisciplinary members while maintaining patient/family centeredness and safety in a timely, efficient and equitable manner

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED preferred
• Entry level position, no prior experience explicitly stated as required.

Nice to Have

• Keyboard experience preferred
