This role involves performing comprehensive verification of health insurance coverage for patients. It requires obtaining financial and demographic information, verifying insurance details, and acting as a liaison between verification and reimbursement processes.
Responsibilities
- Obtain all financial and demographic information from the discharge planner and outside referrals
- Verify all required insurance information, including primary payor data
- Notify Nurses of any change in insurance information, as needed
- Provide information on all insurance coverage and patient financial responsibility to discharge planner
- Complete all required elements of the insurance verification form
- Enter verified insurance information into computer
- Act as a liaison between verifications and reimbursement
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of relevant experience
