Paramedic - Critical Care

About This Role

Provide critical care services to chronically or acutely ill and/or injured patients as part of a healthcare team, ensuring superior patient care in ground transport environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based professional patient care in collaboration with the patient and family
• Coordinate care delivery with other members of the healthcare team
• Administer and maintain pharmacologic agents and intravenous fluids during inter hospital transports
• Operate and maintain proficiency with equipment including cardiac monitors, ventilators, hi-flow, and IV pumps
• Assist the EMT/Driver in maintaining unit readiness and ensuring cleanliness and appropriate par levels for supplies
• Provide direct patient care based on assessment of physical, emotional, bio-physical, and spiritual needs and evaluate outcomes
• Incorporate the principles of patient-centered care
• Collaborate with online medical control physicians to manage complex patient care in transport
• Communicate patients' clinical information clearly and accurately in verbal and written format
• Document pertinent information clearly and accurately in the patients medical record
• Ensure safe operations during ambulance related activities in coordination with the Emergency Vehicle Operator
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment of caring for patients and families
• Provide basic patient comfort measures during procedures
