PACU Registered Nurse

About This Role

Provide comprehensive nursing care in a high-volume Gastrointestinal (GI) Lab/Endoscopy unit, specializing in pre-operative and post-operative patient care, including monitoring patients under moderate sedation. This contract position offers a consistent day schedule without weekends or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in the GI Lab and Endoscopy Pre-op and Post-op areas
• Monitor patients undergoing moderate sedation, ensuring safety and comfort
• Utilize Epic electronic health records to document patient care accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate efficient daily operations with 30-60 cases per day

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license
• Minimum 2 years of experience in GI Lab, Endoscopy, or PACU Pre-op/Post-op settings
• Current ACLS certification
• Current CPR certification
• Successful completion of EKG testing with a score of 80% or higher
• Proficiency in Epic electronic medical record system
