About This Role

This role provides specialized nursing care in an operating room, focusing on comprehensive patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the nursing scope of practice. It involves patient education, collaboration with healthcare teams, and adherence to established protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care in an operating room setting
• Deliver comprehensive care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the nursing scope of practice
• Educate patients on their care
• Collaborate with the healthcare team
• Adhere to established protocols and physician orders
• Coordinate with ancillary personnel

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Current, valid RN license from the State of Wyoming and in good standing with the Board of Nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must be obtained within 60 days of hire
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required or must be obtained within six months if taking call or administering conscious sedation
• Annual completion of required Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
• Strong customer service skills, including patience, empathy, and professionalism
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Effective listening and problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize
• Ability to work independently without supervision
• Proficiency with computer software and confidentiality adherence
• Demonstrates ethical and legal accountability

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Previous hospital experience preferred

• Previous hospital experience
• Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) credential
