Optometrist

About This Role

CareSTL Health is seeking an Optometrist to provide preventive and therapeutic Optometry services to its patients. This role is responsible for clinical care, participating in performance improvement, and maintaining required licenses and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care including routine refraction, test for muscle balance, examination and initial evaluation for ocular injury, slit lamp examination, application of tonometry, and routine examination of the fundus
• Provide after-hours coverage for urgent health care problems for health center patients on an on-call basis
• Participate in the health center’s Performance Improvement program and assist in the formulation and implementation of the health center’s health care plan, especially in optometry protocols
• Practice evidence-based medicine and Patient-Centered medicine
• Proficiently use electronic health records for clinical documentation, order and review labs and radiology, and clear all tasks promptly per organizational policies
• Maintain required Optometry Licenses, Certifications, and Credentials

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Optometry school
• Board Certified
• Licensed to practice Optometry in the State of Missouri
• Effective clinical and communication skills
• Reliable Transportation
