Optical Supervisor

About This Role

The Optical Supervisor will lead a team of optical professionals, ensuring operational excellence, exceptional customer service, and a positive work environment within the store. This role involves both direct customer interaction for eyewear needs and leadership responsibilities to drive sales and mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers to help meet all of their eyewear needs
• Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear, and execute these details with flawless accuracy
• Check that finished eyewear meets optical standards and customer requirements
• Explain prescription terminology and product offerings to customers
• Ensure all operational, service, and staff zoning procedures are executed to Warby Parker standards
• Drive store vision and sales by providing above-and-beyond service
• Act as the main contact for customer and operational questions
• Work with store management to lead and mentor the Optical team, including Optician Apprentice Program participants
• Help maintain general store systems, inventory databases, and business operations
• Foster and support a productive, positive employee culture

Requirements

• Licensed dispensing optician (in states that require a license) or ABO-certified optician (in non-licensing states)
• 2+ years of experience, including supervisor responsibilities
• Passionate about the eyewear and retail industries
• Clear, effective, and professional communication skills
• Dedicated to customer and teammate satisfaction
• Energetic, positive team player adaptable to fast-paced environments
• Extremely detail-oriented, cool under pressure, and capable of juggling responsibilities
• Open-minded and a lifelong learner
• Not on the Office of Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE)

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience including supervisor responsibilities as a licensed dispensing optician or ABO-certified optician
