Licensed Optical Manager

About This Role

Manage a team of Opticians and provide exceptional eyewear experiences to customers, leveraging professional optical skills and product expertise in a new store opening.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers to meet all their eyewear needs
• Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear with flawless accuracy
• Check that finished eyewear meets optical standards and customer requirements
• Explain prescription terminology and product offerings to customers
• Manage a team of Opticians, giving and receiving feedback and leading development conversations
• Uphold exceptional service standards and implement retail experience programs
• Work with the Store Leader to anticipate staffing needs and oversee Optician Apprentice Program participants
• Stay up to date with HR policies and procedures to promote a productive and safe store culture
• Support general store systems, inventory databases, and business operations

Requirements

• Licensed dispensing optician or ABO-certified optician
• 2+ years in a management position
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills
• Ability to drive optical metrics and adhere to strict optical standards
• High sense of professionalism and open-mindedness
• Clear and effective communication skills
• Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of prioritizing tasks
• Not on the Office of Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE)

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a management position
