About This Role

Operate a roll mill to homogenize and roll compounds into batches, ensuring consistent width, thickness, and color of materials, while adhering to safety and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Set up mill to correct speed, width and thickness for the designated compound
• Operate roll mill to homogenize and roll compounds into batches of 100-300 pound sheeting or slab forms
• Rework materials onto the mill with the packer
• Ensure consistent width and thickness by paying attention to the mill and making necessary adjustments
• Cut material with knife against the rolling mill and feed back through rolls to obtain specified color, consistency, and thickness
• Synchronize and adjust the cooling station with the mill to ensure productive operation and appropriate speed
• Guide material onto conveyor belt as appropriate
• Clean rolls to prevent contamination of stocks, using wire brush, hand scraper, solvents, and air hose
• Promptly notify maintenance of any problems

Requirements

• High School graduate or GED
• One year of experience operating a two roll mill
• Detailed oriented and ability to multi-task
• Ability to follow processing instructions, material formulas and quality specifications
• Ability to determine machine adjustment and material requirements
• Ability to follow all safety and environmental rules and regulations
• Ability to maintain detailed records and keep work area neat and orderly

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED
• At least one year of experience operating a two roll mill
