About This Role

The Operator monitors the system, overseeing pressure, temperature, and humidity, and ensures timely product movement within the facility. This role involves maintaining safe equipment operation and documenting process readings.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the system by observing pressure, temperature, and relative humidity measurements on charts or computer monitors
  • Turn valves and adjust controls to ensure the safe operation of equipment
  • Observe sterilizers and auxiliary units to detect malfunctions and assist with repairs as needed
  • Document and record process readings
  • Report damaged product to the Shift Supervisor or Process Supervisor
  • Report system problems to the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Technician
  • Perform daily and weekly equipment preventative maintenance tasks and assist Maintenance as required
  • Store and remove chemicals used in processing in accordance with established procedures and laws
  • Participate on plant safety committees and follow all established safety rules and regulations
  • Oversee the work of Process Assistant Operators

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to read, write and speak fluent English
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals
  • Willingness to work established shifts
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and perform repetitive bending and lifting motions over a period of time
  • Forklift driving experience
  • Medically approved for respirator use
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to high temperatures and high humidity (120F and 60% RH for 20 minutes)

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of six (6) months to one (1) year of experience working in a sterilization environment desired.

  • Experience working in a sterilization environment
  • Computer skills
  • Experience with a company using EO sterilization of products
