Process Engineer

About This Role

Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods for a chemical manufacturing facility by utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, chemicals, and production equipment capabilities. Collaborate with different functions to ensure efficient change management and maintain quality control standards.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and improve the efficiency of the plant, ensuring manufacturing processes work at optimal levels
• Maximize the rate and quality of all surface treaters to meet supply requirements
• Establish, audit, and enforce standard work practices to reduce process variation and enhance product quality
• Provide technical expertise to modify and/or add new processes for quality and efficiency improvement
• Provide technical knowledge to improve quality of existing products and/or new product development
• Provide technical assistance to improve process control and reduce variation
• Carry out process improvement/optimization work including planning and supervising in-mill production trials
• Determine areas requiring process improvements and coordinate efforts for achievement
• Provide technical advice on plant operations for troubleshooting and improvements
• Prepare/review risk assessments, HAZOPs, PHA’s, MOC’s
• Collaborate on the preparation of engineering analysis of projects
• Lead Corrective and Preventative Action documentation and response, including Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Planning

Requirements

• B.S. in Chemical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering
• Ability to work well with all levels of personnel

Qualifications

• B.S. in Chemical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering
• 3+ years engineering experience in an industrial manufacturing facility, will consider recent college graduates

Nice to Have

• Experience working with continuous and batch processes (Paper, Tissue, Non-Woven, Coating, Engineered Wood/Panels, Printing, or Chemical processes)
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black belt
