About This Role

Supervise operational tasks and personnel to ensure guest satisfaction and efficient hotel operations, contributing to profitability through revenue generation, cost control, and associate development.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise back-of-house operating departments in the absence of the Director of Operations
  • Focus on achieving hotel profitability through revenue generation and cost control
  • Develop Associates and ensure Guest satisfaction
  • Direct the work of at least three full-time Associates
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming according to company policy
  • Comply and ensure adherence to company standards and regulations for safe and efficient operations
  • Assist in creating an environment where employees make empowered decisions
  • Participate in required Manager on Duty (MOD) coverage
  • Ensure training in service standards is taking place in each department
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, and training for Guest Services as needed

Requirements

  • At least one-year progressive experience in a lifestyle luxury Rooms Department Hotel or equivalent education and experience
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Proficient in Windows Operating Systems
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations
  • Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
  • Ability to handle problems in the workplace (anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving)
  • Ability to assimilate complex information and data from disparate sources
  • Effective at listening to, understanding, clarifying and resolving concerns and issues from coworkers and Guests
  • Ability to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions
  • Ability to convey information and ideas clearly
  • Weekend availability

Qualifications

  • Four-year college degree or two-year college degree
  • At least one year progressive experience in a lifestyle luxury Rooms Department Hotel; or a four-year college degree and at least one year experience in the Rooms Department at a Hotel; or a two-year college degree and at least two years of experience in a lifestyle luxury Rooms Department at a Hotel. Previous supervisory experience required.
