About This Role

Lead daily operations of a prosthetic manufacturing facility, overseeing production, quality, and technical operations. Drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with medical device manufacturing standards.

Responsibilities

  • Direct daily operations of assembly and machine shop departments, including CNC, milling, turning, and finishing
  • Supervise and mentor production managers, supervisors, machinists, and assembly technicians
  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement
  • Evaluate employee performance by tracking key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate machining and assembly workflows to meet production deadlines
  • Manage optimal utilization of equipment, materials, and labor resources
  • Oversee preventative maintenance programs for machinery and tools
  • Enforce quality control measures to meet medical device manufacturing standards (ISO 13485, FDA compliance)
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce waste, improve throughput, and enhance product consistency
  • Manage budget, track cost of goods sold, and present KPI dashboards to executive leadership
  • Lead the development and implementation of manufacturing best practices, standard operating procedures, and process improvements
  • Drive escalation and resolution of critical operational and project issues
  • Ensure compliance with environment, health, and safety programs across machine shop and assembly areas

Requirements

  • 5+ years operations management experience in precision machining and/or medical device manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining, metal fabrication, and assembly processes
  • Proven leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling tools
  • Detail-orientated with a commitment to quality
  • Strong interpersonal and team-building skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Analytical thinker with a focus on process improvement
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Lean and Continuous Improvement (e.g., Six Sigma) proficiency
  • Production planning
  • Cost accounting literacy

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, or related discipline, OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 5+ years of operations management experience in precision machining and/or medical device manufacturing
