This Operations Manager role supports the Integrated Logistics Services for a principal DoD agency in Virginia, focusing on operational requirements within an Alexandria, VA warehouse. The manager ensures timely customer service and integrated logistics support, including warehousing, coordination of physical delivery, inventory management, shipping/handling, and disposal of IT assets, striving to reduce costs and maximize productivity.
Responsibilities
- Link processes and inputs to maintain balance and alignment between supply chain processes and customer/stakeholder objectives, achieving weapon system availability and cost reduction goals
- Direct activities involved in the receipt, inspection, ticketing, order picking, and storage of warehouse merchandise
- Arrange and coordinate the consolidation, packing, and shipping of hardware from the warehouse to various disparate locations across the Pentagon Reservation
- Control hardware and software from receipt in warehouse until shipment and ensure accountability for distribution and/or disposition of all receipts
- Plan and schedule work assignments, arrange necessary equipment and personnel, and supervise/evaluate the performance of subordinate associates
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and work areas
- Supervise and participate in periodic and special inventories
- Assist in the preparation of a variety of operational statistical data reports for analysis and evaluation of warehouse effectiveness
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Logistics Management, or related field OR High School diploma with 10 years of Warehouse Management experience
- 10+ years in a managerial position related to warehouse support
- Knowledge of distribution and warehouse management systems and techniques
- 5+ years in a (2S0X1) materials managerial position related to Contract Logistics Services (CLS) and supply chain management support
- 5+ years of recent experience working in a DoD environment
- Extensive knowledge of large, complex aviation and/or communications-electronic ground systems maintenance programs and their overall support requirements
- Broad management experience including contract administration, personnel administration, financial management, contracted logistics support, and business administration or specialized customer requirement knowledge
- Experience with analysis, planning, design, implementation, documentation, assessment, and management of an enterprise structural framework to align IT strategy, plans, and systems with SCM mission, structure, and processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Management, Logistics Management, or related field OR 10 years of experience in Warehouse Management with a High School diploma or equivalency
- At least 10 years of experience in a managerial position related to warehouse support, including 5 years of recent experience in a DoD environment and 5 years of experience in a (2S0X1) materials managerial position related to Contract Logistics Services (CLS) and supply chain management support.
