Operations Manager

About This Role

This Operations Manager role oversees daily branch operations, focusing on process improvement, team leadership, and financial management. The position ensures efficient resource allocation, compliance, and high customer satisfaction within the landscape or construction industry.

Responsibilities

• Analyze current operational processes and workflows, identifying and implementing improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve productivity and quality
• Manage and supervise staff, ensuring motivation and productivity, providing training, development, and performance evaluations, and fostering a positive work environment
• Manage and execute weekly and monthly labor planner, monitor expenses, and efficiently allocate resources to meet financial targets
• Ensure proper and effective sourcing of products from preferred vendors and manage inventory levels to meet demand without overstocking
• Facilitate equipment tracking, auditing, usage goals, and preventative maintenance
• Ensure operations comply with industry regulations and company safety standards, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), report operational progress and challenges to the Branch Manager, and use data to inform decision-making
• Ensure operations support excellent customer service and jobsite quality, addressing issues that impact customer satisfaction and implementing improvements
• Lead or contribute to operational projects aimed at improving the business, coordinating teams to achieve branch growth and operational goals
• Oversee the allocation of resources, including staffing, equipment, and technology, forecasting operational needs and planning for future requirements
• Serve as a bridge between various branch departments (Office Admin, Operations, Sales, Acct Mgmt. etc.) to ensure smooth operations and communicate operational excellence strategies
• Collaborate with external partners, such as vendors and clients, to optimize operations

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years in construction or landscaping industry
• Minimum 2-3 years of management experience within the landscape or service industry
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and programs including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, FSM, BrightPath, MFP/WAR calls
• Experience with mobile applications and software including retrieving email, accessing applications, taking and sharing pictures
• Ability to function successfully in a fast paced and ever-changing work environment
• Effective written and oral communication skills

Qualifications

• 2 or 4 year degree in a landscape or business-related field or equivalent experience
• Minimum 7 years in construction or landscaping industry, with 2-3 years of management experience.

• Qualified Applicator License (Pesticide or Fertilizer)
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
