About This Role

This role involves supporting the professional development and growth of nursing staff within a comprehensive healthcare network. The practitioner will collaborate with leadership to manage competency, provide clinical education, and facilitate professional role development to ensure high-quality patient care and alignment with system-wide practice excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Support learners within the context and framework of the Nursing Professional Development, Scope and Standards practice
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership to foster competency management
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership to influence clinical nursing education
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership to facilitate professional role development
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership on policy standardization
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership to promote collaborative partnerships and scientific inquiry
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership for transition to practice and onboarding/orientation of new colleagues
  • Promote the alignment of regional NPD and practice excellence with the HHC system

Requirements

  • 3+ years of active clinical nursing experience
  • 1+ year of experience in an acute care environment
  • Experience as a preceptor
  • Licensed Registered Nurse from the CT DPH (prior to hire date)
  • NPD or Clinical Specialty Certification within two years of hire/transfer
  • BLS certification

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of active clinical nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an acute care environment. Experience as a preceptor.

Nice to Have

  • One year of relevant teaching experience
  • Nursing professional development and/or specialty area experience
