Nursing Assistant (Care Partner) - ICU

About This Role

The Care Partner (Nursing Assistant) works under the direction of a Registered Nurse, focusing on supporting patient experience by assisting with daily living activities, comfort measures, and basic patient care functions in an ICU setting.

Responsibilities

• Promote a positive patient experience by partnering with the nurse, physician, and healthcare team
• Assist with basic daily living activities (ADL's), ambulation, and vital signs for patients
• Perform approved advanced technical training skills such as phlebotomy, simple treatments, and dressing changes
• Perform clerical functions including retrieval of data, maintaining unit supplies, and transporting supplies/medications
• Contribute to the plan of care or treatment based on assigned tasks and patient/family input
• Implement all safety interventions to minimize risk and protect patient rights
• Maintain patient confidentiality adhering to HIPAA regulations
• Participate in hourly patient rounding and promptly answer telephone and call lights
• Communicate effectively with patients, staff, physicians, and families using AIDET and ARRC techniques
• Document completion of patient care in EMR and communicate patient care concerns to the RN or Charge Nurse

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED

Nice to Have

• Graduation from a State approved program for Certified Nursing Assistants or Patient Care Tech Program
• Direct patient care experience
