The Care Partner (Nursing Assistant) works under the direction of a Registered Nurse, focusing on supporting patient experience by assisting with daily living activities, comfort measures, and basic patient care functions in an ICU setting.
Responsibilities
- Promote a positive patient experience by partnering with the nurse, physician, and healthcare team
- Assist with basic daily living activities (ADL's), ambulation, and vital signs for patients
- Perform approved advanced technical training skills such as phlebotomy, simple treatments, and dressing changes
- Perform clerical functions including retrieval of data, maintaining unit supplies, and transporting supplies/medications
- Contribute to the plan of care or treatment based on assigned tasks and patient/family input
- Implement all safety interventions to minimize risk and protect patient rights
- Maintain patient confidentiality adhering to HIPAA regulations
- Participate in hourly patient rounding and promptly answer telephone and call lights
- Communicate effectively with patients, staff, physicians, and families using AIDET and ARRC techniques
- Document completion of patient care in EMR and communicate patient care concerns to the RN or Charge Nurse

- Ability to work individually and as part of a team
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
Nice to Have
- Graduation from a State approved program for Certified Nursing Assistants or Patient Care Tech Program
- Direct patient care experience
