Nurse Practitioner - Primary Care

About This Role

Provide holistic, evidence-based primary and family care as a Nurse Practitioner, delivering accurate assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and health counseling to patients. This role focuses on promoting positive patient health outcomes through routine examinations, diagnostic tests, and coordination with other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Provide Primary and Family evidenced-based care including accurate assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management of health problems, health counseling, and disposition planning for patients
• Perform administrative duties such as opening/closing the clinic, inventory management, patient follow-up, verifying insurance, and collecting payment
• Handle patient appointments and perform routine examinations to ensure positive patient health outcomes
• Speak with patients about healthy lifestyle choices and complete diagnostic tests for injury or illness diagnosis and treatment
• Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to maintain a comprehensive plan of care
• Encourage patients to actively participate in their own healthcare and well-being through health screenings, behavioral health and wellness, and chronic condition management
• Order and administer immunizations and injections (including COVID19, influenza, TB, Depo) and provide patient/parent vaccine counseling and education

Requirements

• Master's Degree level Family Nurse Practitioner program with current National Board Certification and State of Employment license to practice in the Advanced Practice Nurse role OR Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (or other health-related master’s degree or equivalent experience together with Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies) with current National Board Certification and State of Employment license to practice in the role
• Minimum of two years of medically relevant experience or equivalent
• Ability to complete the DOT certification exam within 30 days of employment
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to pass a FIT test and wear a provided respirator mask when protocol requires

Qualifications

• Master's Degree level Family Nurse Practitioner program with current National Board Certification and State of Employment license to practice in the Advanced Practice Nurse role, or Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies with current National Board Certification and State of Employment license to practice in the role.
• Minimum of two years of medically relevant experience or equivalent

• Prior student precepting rotation with MinuteClinic (if less than 1 year of work experience as a licensed provider)
• Epic experience
• Proficiency in additional languages, including Spanish, depending on the market
