Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant Primary Care

About This Role

Provide comprehensive, high-quality primary and family care as a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant at MinuteClinic, focusing on assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and health counseling for patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide Primary and Family evidenced-based care inclusive of accurate assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management of health problems, health counseling, and disposition planning for our patients.
• Perform administrative duties including opening/closing the clinic, inventory, patient follow up, verifying insurance, collecting payment, and maintaining a clean environment.
• Handle patient appointments and perform routine examinations to ensure positive patient health outcomes.
• Speak with patients about healthy lifestyle choices, complete diagnostic tests, and coordinate with other healthcare professionals for comprehensive care.
• Encourage patients to become active participants in their own healthcare and well-being through services such as health screenings, behavioral health and wellness, and chronic condition management.
• Provide education and treatment for pregnancy prevention, sexually transmitted infection (STI) Prevention and safer sex practices.
• Order and administer immunizations and injections (e.g., COVID19, influenza, TB, Depo) and provide evidence-based patient/parent vaccine counseling and education.

Requirements

• Active Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in good standing
• Minimum of one year experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Minimum of two years of medically relevant experience or equivalent
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to complete the DOT certification exam within 30 days of employment
• Ability to pass a FIT test and wear a provided respirator mask when protocol requires

Qualifications

• Master's Degree level Family Nurse Practitioner program with current National Board Certification and State of Employment license to practice in the Advanced Practice Nurse role OR Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies with current National Board Certification and State of Employment license to practice in the role.
• Minimum of one year experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is preferred. Minimum of two years of medically relevant experience or equivalent.

• Experience in Family medicine or primary care practice
• EPIC experience
