This role is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up, within a CTS Ambulatory setting. The position involves interpreting lab results, collaborating with physicians, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of functions and technical procedures for patient admission, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and outcome evaluation
- Participate in performance improvement, research, and educational activities
- Take initial patient histories and perform physical examinations
- Initiate, document, and communicate the plan of care, ensuring complete screening and preparation of patients
- Perform daily patient rounds
- Write orders for medications, laboratory work, and diagnostic tests
- Interpret laboratory and test results
- Confer with attending physicians, residents, nursing staff, and/or other care providers to ensure optimum quality of patient care
- Document discharge summaries, prescriptions, and any referrals on patient charts upon discharge
- Inform patients of necessary post-discharge care instructions
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in a Nurse Practitioner Program and National Board Certification in specialty area OR Bachelor’s Degree and Graduate of an accredited (ARC-PA) Physician Assistant program
- Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in New York State AND current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State
- Collaborative practice agreement with designated protocols filed with NYS Department of Education OR collaborative relationship attestation as per the Nurse Practitioner Modernization Act 2015 for NPs
- Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant (PA) by the New York State Department of Education
- Current NCCPA Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Current BLS certification
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in a Nurse Practitioner Program OR Bachelor’s Degree and Graduate of an accredited (ARC-PA) Physician Assistant program
