Nurse Manager - Urgent Care

About This Role

Lead and manage an Urgent Care unit as a Registered Professional Nurse, ensuring high-quality patient care and staff development. This role focuses on clinical, financial, and human resource management to promote a center of excellence.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and management for a specific unit(s) or service, using knowledge and skills to promote a center of excellence.
• Hold all participants accountable for the delivery of care and services through effective communication and observation.
• Manage clinical, financial, human, and material resources, including associated outcomes or goals.
• Serve as chief retention and safety officer, ensuring safety and quality standards are upheld and mitigating risks.
• Create and ensure a desirable, safe work environment to achieve organizational mission and goals.
• Model fostering communication and collaboration with physicians, staff, patients, and other departments.
• Engage staff in decision-making via shared governance processes and promote relationship-based care delivery.
• Analyze and manage financial resources, utilizing lean and quality skills to improve performance and integrate marketing strategies.
• Communicate effectively to diverse audiences on nursing, healthcare, and organizational issues, setting and enforcing performance standards.
• Establish partnerships with staff, departments, and medical staff through strong relationship-building skills and fair practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• 2+ years of progressive experience in nursing management
• RN license (Multi-state Compact or Single State)
• BLS certification (Instructor, Basic Life Support, or ARC-BLS)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Relationship building skills
• Knowledge of the healthcare environment
• Leadership skills in change management, systems thinking, coaching
• Business skills to manage human and material resources
• Understanding of healthcare financing, strategy, and operations
• Ability to use data and technology for decision-making
• Familiarity with shared governance/decision-making
• Knowledge of risk management, accreditation, regulations, and licensing requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Nursing, Master's Nursing-Preferred
• Minimum 2 years of progressive experience in nursing management

• Master's degree in Nursing

Certifications
