Lead and manage an Urgent Care unit as a Registered Professional Nurse, ensuring high-quality patient care and staff development. This role focuses on clinical, financial, and human resource management to promote a center of excellence.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and management for a specific unit(s) or service, using knowledge and skills to promote a center of excellence.
- Hold all participants accountable for the delivery of care and services through effective communication and observation.
- Manage clinical, financial, human, and material resources, including associated outcomes or goals.
- Serve as chief retention and safety officer, ensuring safety and quality standards are upheld and mitigating risks.
- Create and ensure a desirable, safe work environment to achieve organizational mission and goals.
- Model fostering communication and collaboration with physicians, staff, patients, and other departments.
- Engage staff in decision-making via shared governance processes and promote relationship-based care delivery.
- Analyze and manage financial resources, utilizing lean and quality skills to improve performance and integrate marketing strategies.
- Communicate effectively to diverse audiences on nursing, healthcare, and organizational issues, setting and enforcing performance standards.
- Establish partnerships with staff, departments, and medical staff through strong relationship-building skills and fair practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- 2+ years of progressive experience in nursing management
- RN license (Multi-state Compact or Single State)
- BLS certification (Instructor, Basic Life Support, or ARC-BLS)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Relationship building skills
- Knowledge of the healthcare environment
- Leadership skills in change management, systems thinking, coaching
- Business skills to manage human and material resources
- Understanding of healthcare financing, strategy, and operations
- Ability to use data and technology for decision-making
- Familiarity with shared governance/decision-making
- Knowledge of risk management, accreditation, regulations, and licensing requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Nursing, Master's Nursing-Preferred
- Minimum 2 years of progressive experience in nursing management
