About This Role

Manage and lead nursing operations for Acute Care, supervising direct patient care, staff development, and ensuring coordination of care focused on patient education and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead nursing operations for Acute Care units 24/7
  • Supervise specific orientation, training, and development of staff
  • Evaluate individual staff performance
  • Function as a role model, educator, practitioner, and supervisor providing leadership to the team
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to enhance care outcomes
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate delivery of care based on age-specific components
  • Coordinate care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction
  • Provide and direct others in Veteran/patient-driven care
  • Apply evidence-based practice/research to improve quality of care and resource utilization

Requirements

  • English Language Proficiency
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or District of Columbia

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by ACEN or CCNE, or a master's level bridge program in nursing with coursework equivalent to a bachelor's degree in Nursing, or a doctoral degree in Nursing/related field with a BSN.
  • Entry level with specific experience requirements for higher grades: 1 year specialized nursing experience for Nurse I - Level II / BSN, 2 years professional nursing experience for Nurse I - Level III / BSN with 1 year, 2 years professional nursing equivalent for Nurse II / BSN, 1 year specialized nursing experience for Nurse II / MSN, 2 years specialized nursing experience for Nurse III / MSN, 1 year specialized nursing experience for Nurse III / Doctoral degree.
