Nurse Aide I - MedSurg Ortho Spine

About This Role

This Nurse Aide I position supports patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, assists with clerical work, and maintains a clean patient environment under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Support patients/residents with activities of daily living.
• Assist patients/residents with personal hygiene.
• Take vital signs and height and weight measurements.
• Feed and ambulate patients/residents according to specific procedures.
• Maintain patient/resident's rooms in a clean and orderly condition.
• Observe and report changes in patient/resident conditions.
• Orient patients/families to unit and instruct patient on safety measures.
• Assist with clerical work such as answering phones, entering data and maintaining medical records.
• Maintain stock supply items in inventory management.
• Perform duties as outlined in the scope of Nurse Aide I (per applicable state Board of Nursing Nurse Aide I Tasks List).
• Perform technical tasks with appropriate training such as administering a 12- Lead Electrocardiogram test and routine venipuncture.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Current listing with the DFS Nurse Aide Registry as a Nurse Aide I
• BLS certification

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required for new hires on or after 7/22/2018.
