Nurse Aide - Emergency Department PRN

About This Role

Support patients in the Emergency Department by assisting with daily living activities, maintaining a clean environment, and performing basic medical support tasks under registered nurse supervision.

Responsibilities

• Support patients/residents with activities of daily living
• Assist patients/residents with personal hygiene
• Take vital signs and height and weight measurements
• Feed and ambulate patients/residents according to specific procedures
• Maintain patient/resident's rooms in a clean and orderly condition
• Observe and report changes in patient/resident conditions
• Orient patients/families to unit and instruct patient on safety measures
• Assist with clerical work such as answering phones, entering data and maintaining medical records
• Maintain stock supply items in inventory management
• Perform duties as outlined in the scope of Nurse Aide I
• Perform technical tasks such as administering a 12-Lead Electrocardiogram test and routine venipuncture

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required for new hires on or after 7/22/2018
• Current listing with the DFS Nurse Aide Registry as a Nurse Aide I
• BLS required per policy guidelines
