Support patients in the Emergency Department by assisting with daily living activities, maintaining a clean environment, and performing basic medical support tasks under registered nurse supervision.
Responsibilities
- Support patients/residents with activities of daily living
- Assist patients/residents with personal hygiene
- Take vital signs and height and weight measurements
- Feed and ambulate patients/residents according to specific procedures
- Maintain patient/resident's rooms in a clean and orderly condition
- Observe and report changes in patient/resident conditions
- Orient patients/families to unit and instruct patient on safety measures
- Assist with clerical work such as answering phones, entering data and maintaining medical records
- Maintain stock supply items in inventory management
- Perform duties as outlined in the scope of Nurse Aide I
- Perform technical tasks such as administering a 12-Lead Electrocardiogram test and routine venipuncture
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required for new hires on or after 7/22/2018
- Current listing with the DFS Nurse Aide Registry as a Nurse Aide I
- BLS required per policy guidelines
