About This Role

The Registered Nurse (RN) as an integral member of the Yale New Haven Health System (YNHHS) healthcare team provides high-level patient-centered care. The RN practices professional nursing within a legal and ethical framework, focusing on autonomy and accountability in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Collect pertinent data and information relative to the healthcare consumer's health or situation.
• Analyze assessment data to determine actual and potential diagnoses or issues.
• Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the healthcare consumer or the situation.
• Develop and modify a plan of care that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes.
• Implement the identified plan, coordinating care delivery and transitions.
• Employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
• Evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes.
• Practice ethically and in a manner congruent with cultural diversity and inclusion principles.
• Communicate effectively in all areas of practice and collaborate with healthcare consumers and other stakeholders.
• Lead within the professional practice setting and the profession.

Requirements

• Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
• Current BCLS certification or must obtain within one month of hire

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.
• Registered Nurse is the foundational job description for all RNs.
