About This Role

Perform a wide variety of technical and professional duties utilizing complex imaging equipment to produce quality Ultrasound images for subsequent interpretation by radiologists, while ensuring accurate and compassionate patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality and efficient ultrasound exams to assist with a patient's diagnostic work-up
  • Follow routine protocols and/or physicians specific prescriptions, minimizing repeat examinations due to non-compliance or poor quality
  • Provide accurate and compassionate patient care to ensure service excellence, patient cooperation, safety, and satisfaction
  • Identify patients and exams accurately 100% of the time according to departmental policy
  • Perform various record-keeping tasks to ensure department goals are met, medical record documentation accuracy, and daily operations run smoothly and efficiently
  • Demonstrate mastery of end user computer skills of RIS (Imagecast, VIP, Synapse, Syngo Dynamics, Event Reporting) by accurately and independently performing related tasks such as exam scheduling and completion
  • Participate in various learning opportunities to further personal knowledge/skills and assist with teaching or training others
  • Proactively seek opportunities to further career, knowledge, and expertise through job related seminars, courses, advanced degrees/certifications, or professional societies
  • Follow established safety precautions and procedures in the performance of all duties to ensure a safe environment
  • Operate equipment and perform job related duties in a safe manner, following policies and procedures, to minimize risk of injury to patients
  • Conduct themselves by the YNHHS Standards of Professional Behavior with all patient and visitor encounters and interactions with all employees

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated technical skills for entry level routine sonography
  • Proficient in routine ultrasound imaging techniques
  • Above average knowledge of computer / Pacs applications
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good communication/customer service skills
  • Active, current ARDMS certification
  • Abdomen certification (within six months of hire)

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated technical skills to meet entry level standards of routine sonography.
