NC Programmer I

About This Role

The NC Programmer I will provide Manufacturing Engineering capabilities to operational and development programs, delivering zero defect projects using engineering and problem-solving skills. This role is accountable for robust manufacturing process technology related to materials, tooling, part fabrication, and assembly.

Responsibilities

• Develops/revises/proofs programs for complex math-modeled and computer-generated parts surfacing programs to ensure products meet specifications.
• Analyzes engineering drawings, operation sheets, blueprints, process requirements, and parts complexity to determine feasibility for part programs.
• Defines part geometry utilizing CAD or Automated program Tools to manufacture components on NC machine tools.
• Develops manufacturing package including tool orders, tool set-up sheets, cutting tool descriptions, NC operation sheets, operator instructions, and program manuscript.
• Ensures compliance with GKN Aerospace Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and standards.
• Responsible for developing technical solutions to complex problems for GKN Aerospace, customers, and suppliers.
• Provides technical support for manufacturing process development and production integration.
• Utilizes root cause analysis, preventative, and corrective actions to reduce/eliminate non-conformances.
• Continuously improves production processes by implementing Lean initiatives.
• Responsible for the development and implementation of tooling solutions from concept through production.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
• 3+ Years of CNC Programming experience in a Manufacturing environment
• 1+ year of using NX, Catia or Solidworks CAD/CAM software
• US Citizen or Green Card Holder
• Proficiency in English, both verbal and written

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or lieu of degree 5+ years of tool design experience
• 3+ Years of CNC Programming experience in a Manufacturing environment
