The NC Programmer I will provide Manufacturing Engineering capabilities to operational and development programs, delivering zero defect projects using engineering and problem-solving skills. This role is accountable for robust manufacturing process technology related to materials, tooling, part fabrication, and assembly.
Responsibilities
- Develops/revises/proofs programs for complex math-modeled and computer-generated parts surfacing programs to ensure products meet specifications.
- Analyzes engineering drawings, operation sheets, blueprints, process requirements, and parts complexity to determine feasibility for part programs.
- Defines part geometry utilizing CAD or Automated program Tools to manufacture components on NC machine tools.
- Develops manufacturing package including tool orders, tool set-up sheets, cutting tool descriptions, NC operation sheets, operator instructions, and program manuscript.
- Ensures compliance with GKN Aerospace Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and standards.
- Responsible for developing technical solutions to complex problems for GKN Aerospace, customers, and suppliers.
- Provides technical support for manufacturing process development and production integration.
- Utilizes root cause analysis, preventative, and corrective actions to reduce/eliminate non-conformances.
- Continuously improves production processes by implementing Lean initiatives.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of tooling solutions from concept through production.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- 3+ Years of CNC Programming experience in a Manufacturing environment
- 1+ year of using NX, Catia or Solidworks CAD/CAM software
- US Citizen or Green Card Holder
- Proficiency in English, both verbal and written
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or lieu of degree 5+ years of tool design experience
- 3+ Years of CNC Programming experience in a Manufacturing environment

- Ability to read blueprints
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Working knowledge of quality system models such as ISO9000, AS9100, or D1-9000
