Certified Fabricator

About This Role

The Fabricator will perform assembly, forming, finishing, and repair of aerospace components according to customer specifications, utilizing various machines, hand tools, and measuring instruments. This role is crucial for maintaining GKN Aerospace's commitment to quality and safety in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Use pneumatic tools for grinding, sanding, and deburring aerospace parts with precision
• Perform drilling, assembling rivets and brackets, trimming, and paint touch-up
• Deburr and form parts using expanders, hot dye presses, and rolls
• Finish, blend, and sand parts to required specifications
• Safely use and be certified to operate a forklift
• Maintain records for periodic maintenance and order spare/replacement parts
• Maintain a clean work environment in compliance with company standards and regulations
• Assist in developing and maintaining a business culture that supports overall objectives and goals
• Ensure compliance with company policy and government regulations regarding workplace safety and environmental protection

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 3+ years of manufacturing experience
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
• Ability to be certified to operate a forklift
• US Citizen or Green Card Holder
• Proficient in English (verbal and written) for manufacturing environment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment

• Experience with precision measuring equipment, gages, and hand tools
• Experience working with hazardous materials and/or chemicals
• Ability to work in a team and independently
• Knowledge and experience in troubleshooting safety, quality, and technical issues
