Group Leader

About This Role

The Group Leader is responsible for achieving People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cash, and Cost (PSQDCC) targets by rigorously deploying the Lean Operating Model. This role focuses on attaining Operational Excellence and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safety within their designated area of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Create and sustain a culture aligned with GKN Aerospace's Great Place To Work values and Cultural Principles by role-modelling behaviors
• Empower and hold Team Members and Leaders accountable to embody the cultural principles
• Provide candid feedback, appraising and managing individuals' performance while supporting and coaching to close performance gaps
• Exemplify a safety-first mindset and ensure GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards are applied
• Develop first-class Team Leaders to embody GKN cultural principles and progress to Group Leaders or other key roles
• Lead and develop teams to understand and deliver PSQDCC targets to meet customer and stakeholder commitments
• Drive the disciplined and rigorous deployment of the Lean Operating Model (LOM) across assigned areas
• Actively participate in problem solving and the management system using a Go to Gemba approach
• Contribute to the Site strategy through the Hoshin Kanri process and ensure its execution across assigned areas
• Cooperate with other Group Leaders to ensure the best performance outcomes for the entire site
• Partner with functional support staff to adhere to Global standards and enable area teams to meet targets
• Ensure disciplined execution of Daily Management and Standardized work through adherence to Leader Standard Work and the Tier System Process
• Drive and facilitate the engagement of all team members, ensuring engagement actions are defined, implemented and followed-through
• Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements and export control regulations
• Manage area budget as agreed with direct manager
• Take ownership when making difficult decisions linked to their area

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 5-7 years’ experience in Manufacturing Operations
• Experience in managing delivery to Customer schedules
• Experience in leadership position with Direct Reports
• Understanding of finance and accounting principles
• US Citizen to meet export control compliance requirements

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in business, organizational management, program management or engineering field
