About This Role

The 1st Shift CNC Machine Operator is responsible for operating CNC machines and carrying out standard activities in full compliance with work instructions and safety procedures. This role involves working with machine cells, batching and serializing parts, documenting work, and performing quality inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Operate groups of machines (cells) independently or with others to meet production targets
  • Batch and serialize parts
  • Document work as required
  • Monitor, change, and set cutters, ensuring correct limits on tool sheets
  • Follow various work instructions including batch cards, standard operating procedures, and inspection sheets
  • Maintain a clean work area
  • Inspect parts using CMM equipment as needed
  • Deburr parts using a deburring wheel and/or file
  • Check and add coolant, and monitor/adjust refractor coolant level
  • Remove metal chips from machines and manage full barrels of chips
  • Verify tool offset or work offset to tool length for peers
  • Make adjustments to work offsets or tool length/diameter to ensure quality parts
  • Complete assigned preventative maintenance procedures for cell equipment
  • Machine all assigned parts and run a majority of the product mix
  • Load and unload parts for machines
  • Support in improving and maintaining a safe environment
  • Contribute to continuous improvement ideas

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Basic troubleshooting skills, such as identifying tooling issues
  • Familiarity with the use of measuring devices
  • Ability to multitask
  • Must be a US Person (Citizen or Green Card Holder) or have the ability to obtain necessary Government licensing

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
