Mobile Mechanic

About This Role

Provide hands-on maintenance and repair services for quarry equipment and mobile machinery, focusing on troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and immediate repairs to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on a variety of quarry and mobile equipment
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime
• Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems to identify and resolve malfunctions
• Respond to breakdowns and perform on-site repairs at various locations within the quarry
• Conduct inspections to identify wear, safety hazards, or potential failures and take corrective actions
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and parts usage
• Ensure compliance with MSHA, OSHA, and company safety standards
• Operate diagnostic equipment and tools for precise assessments
• Perform welding and fabrication for structural or component repairs
• Collaborate with maintenance teams and supervisors to prioritize repairs and communicate equipment status
• Promote a culture of safety and adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3-5 years of experience maintaining and repairing heavy mobile machinery
• Proficiency in hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems
• Experience with welding, fabrication, and structural repairs
• Knowledge of MSHA and OSHA safety regulations
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in outdoor conditions
• Ability to pass a 7-year criminal background check
• Ability to comply with PPE and respirator safety requirements

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required, field of study in Heavy Equipment Maintenance preferred
• 3-5 years of experience maintaining and repairing heavy mobile machinery
