Perform laboratory analysis on received patient specimens and provide clinical information for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. This role is responsible for maintaining overall quality, efficiency, and safety in assigned technical duties within the lab.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate proficiency and follow testing procedures and policies by adhering to quality assurance guidelines for equipment and work area
- Document corrective action to any non-conforming event
- Prepare reagents, maintain an adequate supply of materials for test procedures, and manage inventory to effectively reduce departmental waste/expense
- Exercise clinical judgment in assessing priorities while identifying, problem solving, and offering solutions to test systems
- Assist with review and revision of procedures and documentation related to accreditation, adhering to all regulatory requirements
- Maintain clear, real-time communications shift-to-shift and with leadership regarding issues, concerns, and problems
- Participate in planning and implementing change through participation in staff meetings, task forces, or projects
- Participate in competency assessment program, where qualified
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- MT (ASCP) or MLS (ASCP) or equivalent registry eligible required within one year of hire
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
